I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend and hope you all have managed to stay cool this past week!  As usual, we have a busy week this coming week.  Please note information below:
 
  • PTA Membership Dues: Please turn in your PTA membership and receive your membership card and freebies! We must remain in good standing with the PTA organization and this requires a certain percentage of participation. Dues are $7 and even your Jordan student can join! Our goal is 100% participation, so let's get signed up! Also note, the class with the highest number of participants by OCTOBER 30th will get a pizza party. Here are the numbers by class to date:

  • Reflections: This year PTA is sponsoring the prestigious Reflections Art program! Each student is encouraged to participate and create a masterpiece inspired by this year's theme "Let Your Imagination Fly". Student entries and forms are due October 2, 2015. The deadline must be followed in order to be considered for juding awards. All participating students will be recognized at the Reflections Recognition Reception scheduled for October 15, 2015. All art work will be displayed during this event. PARENTS: If you are interested in volunteering for this prestigious program please contact Lillian Ayala, Reflections Coordinator, at jordanarts@gmail.com
          We need help with the following: 
          Collection of Student Artwork by class: 
October 2nd
          
Assist in the art set up for Judges: Date to be determined
          
          
Recognition Reception, October 15
 
          Daytime Set-up of Artwork (includes labeling and posting of awards)
 
          Food set-up/Serving
 
          Food Donations: Food donations is requested and appreciated including    
          pastries, punch, coffee, plates, napkins, cups, and silverware.
 
          Reception Clean-up: Assist with the clean-up of our prestigious recognition.
  • Save those Campbell's Soup Labels! Bring in participating Labels for Education, found on many food products, to the office or your teacher. The school earns points with those labels and can redeem them for many educational tools that benefit our students.
  • Fall Fundraiser:  Packets are due on Friday, Sept. 18th. Let's push through this last weekend and make some good sales!
  • Newsline: By now, you should have received our very own newsletter (If not, search your student's backpack or folders). A big thank you to Angie for religiously putting together the Newsline for us. It is one more way the PTA tries to keep our families informed on. Please pay extra attention to the Save the Date section as this helps to map out what's to come.
  • Stoves on Strikes: Our next S.O.S is coming up on Wed., Sept. 23rd at Shakey's.  Let's try and beat our last SOS of $333.  I will be looking for you there! 
  • PTA Meeting is coming up on Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 7pm!  Currently, the PTA meets every 3rd Tuesdayof the month. Join us for refreshments and to learn more about upcoming school functions, PTA events and more. See you there!
